Yuli wins Best Screenplay at San Sebastian Film Festival

We are delighted to announce that Yuli premiered and then went on to win Best Screenplay at this year’s San Sebastian Film Festival. The film received a rapturous response, competing in the official selection alongside new films by Claire Denis, Naomi Kawase, Brillante Mendoza and Peter Strickland.

Directed by the acclaimed Icíar Bollaín and written by BAFTA-winning screenwriter Paul Laverty (I, Daniel Blake), Yuli is co-produced by Morena Films with BBC Films and Creative Scotland financing in the UK. The film is a wonderful biopic chronicling the dramatic rise of Cuban ballet dancer Carlos Acosta.
