On Monday, ITV1’s latest drama, Secret Service, dived into the world of espionage, including a lot of ITV news presenters acting their socks off. Based on the 2019 novel by ITN’s very own Tom Bradbury which imagines a Russian asset at the heart of Government, the show began very pleasingly. Meanwhile, The Neighbourhood seems to have had a bypass built around in, and the Race Around The World continues on BBC1.
ITV1’s five-part spy thriller Secret Service opened with an impressive 2.2 million/21% at 9pm on Monday, enough to overwhelm the third and fourth episodes of BBC1’s new drama Mint. The double bill of Mint picked up 474,000/4% at 9pm and 394,000/4% at 9.30pm. Second in the 9pm slot was BBC2’s coverage of the World Snooker Championships, which for the hour achieved 1.1 million/10%.
